My beliefs are informed by metaphysical naturalism. I am a Secular Humanist. Secular Humanism is a life stance and a way of thinking and living that aims to bring out the best in people so that all people can have the best in life. Secular humanists reject supernatural and authoritarian beliefs. They affirm that we must take responsibility for our own lives and the communities and world in which we live. Secular humanism emphasizes reason and scientific inquiry, individual freedom and responsibility, human values and compassion, and the need for tolerance and cooperation. __

Crackpot Realism - "Mills's key insight was that although such people have indeed been movers and shakers, they have moved and shaken within such a constricted milieu of experience and training that in most respects they are fools." -- This doesn't just apply to appointed bureaucrats but, to all the elected officials who are systematically trained through the mechanizations of the bureaucratic and hegemonic to believe and function in a way that serves the ruling class at the expense of ideals; democracy, justice, accountability, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness etc.
Though the "self-anointed "deciders"" are not exactly self appointed and nether did 'We the People' appoint them they still rule in this quasi-fascist corporatist oligarchical republic called the USA.
"Crackpot realists never learn anything, even when the lessons are cuffing them roughly about the head and shoulders. They continue to pile on more of the same actions that got them into trouble in the first place, expecting to be seen as Churchillian heroes for staying the idiotic course they have set. They keep spinning the bad news, year after year after year, wearing out entire battalions of press officers, until they finally escape from the morass by leaving office. Afterward, they heap blame on their successors for "losing China" or "cutting and running.""

"Big Media are bad for democracy. Democracy can't exist without an informed public. We rely on unbiased news from independent sources to stay informed and to hold our government accountable. But media consolidation means fewer sources of news, opinion and information. Instead of hard-hitting critical journalism, Big Media give us a junk diet of celebrity gossip and sensationalism."

"...the Senate passed a critical bill that is the first step to stopping the FCC from letting Big Media get even bigger. Now the House must do the same.
Today we're launching a "100 Co-sponsors in 100 Days" drive. It's an all-out effort to get 100 House members to sign-on to the Resolution of Disapproval (H.J. Res. 79), which overturns the FCC's giveaway to conglomerates. With your help this can happen before summer's end."

"""Even if no new cases are filed, it might take 10 years for the Department of Justice to clear its desk. Cases in the backlog represent a lot of money being left on the table," said Patrick Burns, a spokesman for Taxpayers Against Fraud, which advocates for Justice to receive more funding to support cases by whistle-blowers and their attorneys."

This is a good source for "...religious views of the founding fathers, presidents, and others. What did they think about about such things as the separation of church and state, public prayer, and the relation between religion and morality?"
"Like everyone else, I have my own opinions and biases, but I have made every attempt to be fair and impartial in creating this site."
